Grade 3A

Esra Yildirim-Bas

Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful winter break and welcome back to Term 3!

As part of our Term 3 Integrated Studies curriculum, the grade 3 students are learning about ‘Spinning in Space’.

All the grade 3 students and teachers went to visit the Planetarium (Melbourne Museum: Scienceworks) to watch ‘ Planetarium Tilt.’ Students also participated in ‘Alice’s Wonderland,’ ‘Think ahead’ and ‘Sportsworks’ exhibit. It was a great experience for all of us. Overall, we all enjoyed ourselves and had a fantastic day.

Grade 4A

Mirela Hot

Dear Parents and Guardians,

These last few weeks grade 4A students were preparing and working extra hard in the lead up to their spectacular performance at our annual end of year concert which blew the audience away.

Wow! What a great show it was! Our performance was based on ‘The wonderful Wizard of Oz’ written by Frank L.Baum. The story begins with Dorothy, a farm girl from Kansas who finds herself in her Munchkin Land and needs to make her way to Emerald City. The play shows her journey of new found friendships along the way.

I am very proud of all the students who took part in our fabulous presentation and all of their grand efforts that made our performance amazing! You are truly talented individuals who are very inspirational class members.

Also this term:

Students will be attending an excursion this term to CERES Environment Park to learn about plant growth, fossils and different types of rocks.

Students have been learning about fractions and decimals in numeracy and we will be moving on to Volume, Temperature and shapes later in the term.

Our focus in literacy is an Explanation text type so our authors will be very busy constructing their writing pieces.

In Integrated studies we have been learning about different types of soil and about earth surface changes which include weathering and erosion. We have also conducted some experiments to show weathering and erosion in action.

Here are some photos from the Primary Concert and our class experimenting!

Grade 4B

Medine Cilek

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Grade 4 students have made a very good start to this term. They have been busy learning about rocks and soils for our integrated studies topic. They created pet stones using rocks and completed soil sample drawings over consecutive weeks to see changes in layers.

The students will also have the opportunity to see plants and various types of rocks and fossils with our visit to Ceres.

I would like to thank all my students for their hard work in the outstanding performance they showed during our school concert with their performance of ‘Annie’.

Kind Regards,
Ms Cilek
